HYBRID COMPONENTS
Metal-plastic compounds are suitable for products with high demands regarding wear and heat resistance, as well as stability and isolation capabilities. The bonding of the components is created through an encapsulation of metal parts with plastic. Increasingly complex components can be manufactured with modern processing and assembly procedures. In the automotive and aerospace field, hybrid components are used to minimize the total weight of the vehicle or aircraft, and thus lower production costs. Plastics offer a greater scope of design options, and are economically more advantageous.
Hybrid components are specially utilized in the communications, electronics and electrical engineering industry. The good insulation properties of plastics are used, for example, for the production of connectors and battery covers. The development and production of multifunctional hybrid components requires in-depth expertise of the material properties and manufacturing processes. CHROFF Kunststofftechnik GmbH adjusts the selection of materials and production processes to the requirements and wishes of our customers.
